My collection of weaves is inspired by the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, an artist celebrated for his ability to narrate stories through his art, blending Indian traditions with European techniques. What draws me most to his work is his extraordinary use of color and texture, which breathes life into his subjects and surroundings. His paintings are rich with contrasts—soft, delicate figures juxtaposed against bold, vibrant backdrops—and this interplay was something I wanted to explore deeply in my designs.

In my weaves, I’ve aimed to replicate the layers of depth and texture found in his art. The use of earthy tones like orange, red, and gold reflects the opulence and warmth of his palette, while the incorporation of detailed textures mimics the intricacies of his compositions.

Through this collection, I wanted to reinterpret the essence of his storytelling, transforming it into something tactile, where each piece carries a narrative of its own. The designs are meant to evoke the same emotional resonance as his paintings, connecting the viewer to a timeless cultural heritage.
